Statement of Faith

THE STATEMENT OF FAITH OF KEHILAT SHILOH INC.

We believe in One God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the Creator of the Universe.
We believe in the Father (YHWH), the Son (Yeshua), and the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh).

MESSIAH
We believe that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14-15).
We believe that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah prophesied in the Scripture and believe in His return.
He is the Embodiment of the Word of God (John 1:14), the Light from the Beginning, the Instrument through
which all things were made (John 1:3, Proverbs 8:22-30).
We believe in Yeshua’s virginal conception, sinless life, miracles, vicarious and atoning death, bodily
resurrection, ascension and return to the world to rule from Jerusalem (Revelation 20:6).

SCRIPTURE
We believe that the Bible, composed of the Tanakh (Older Testament) and the New Testament, is the inspired
Word of God. We accept its teachings as the final authority in matters of faith and practice (2 Timothy 2:16
17).
We believe that the Torah is still in effect, and will not pass away until heaven and earth pass away (Matthew
5:17).
We believe that the Torah is still in effect, and will not pass away until heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:17).
We live, love, and worship in observation of the Torah and His principles within it.
We believe the Sabbath runs from sundown Friday evening through sundown Saturday evening.
We observe the Friday evening Erev Shabbat and the Saturday Shabbat services with public oneg.
We observe the monthly Rosh Chodesh services and sighting of the new moon.
We observe the moedim of Pesach, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Shavuot, Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot.
We observe the dietary laws such as the prohibitions of pork, shellfish, catfish, and blood.
We observe the 10% tithe or offering and the practice of benevolence to others in need of assistance. We
acknowledge the second and third tithe as well as encourage others to observe these lesser known tithes as able.
We observe the Great Commission to preach the Good News and to disciple others in Yeshua.
We observe within the best of our ability of the Ten Commandments and others in the Scriptures.
We believe that Yeshua came to fulfill the Torah by living it out and did not come to do away with it. Rather, Yeshua
became the example of how to live out the Torah in one’s life.

SALVATION
We believe salvation is by faith, not by works (Ephesians 2:8). Real faith produces works as a byproduct,
through the power of the Holy Spirit (James 2:14-26).
We believe the blood of the Messiah provides atonement for all sins. (1 John 2:2)
We believe in the “Great Commission” and its execution to all peoples on the earth, both to Jew and Gentile, the
path of salvation being open to all who will hear His Word and walk in the Way.

ISRAEL
We reject Replacement Theology (Supersessionism), and believe Israel and the Jewish People are still the
Chosen People, and have not been replaced (Jeremiah 33:20), and that to them, were committed the words of
God (Romans 3:2)
We believe that non-Jewish believers are grafted in through Yeshua (Jesus). (Romans 9-11, Ephesians 2)
We believe that Israel was and still is the chosen people of YHWH and His covenant with Israel is still valid and in
force. We believe in the unification of the body within the Kingdom of YHWH. We agree with and implement the
grafting in process illustrated in chapter 15 of the Book of the Acts of the Apostles.
We believe that the modern state of Israel is the beginning of the fulfillment of prophecy (Hosea 6:2, Isaiah 66:8, Ezekiel 36), in preparation for the return of Yeshua (Jesus).
